Overwhelmed.

I am just overwhelmed today. Very emotional and hormonal.. I guess that's what being a breastfeeding "new" mommy does to you.. especially one going through the things I'm going through.

Anyway, I'm too blah to write today.. I'll mnoderate comments tomorrow and reply.. I'll comment on your blogs tomorrow too. I made it to some, but not all. I just don't feel up to it right now. I finally got Leala to sleep, and now she's up again. Duty calls.. as always.

You know you're a Mommy when..

My husband and I were talking this afternoon, and I said, "That's when you know you're a Mommy!" So I thought it would be fun if I added some things here that give away that we're Mommies.. There's more where this is coming from, so I'm sure this won't be the last time you see these!

You know you're a Mommy when...
you vacuum everyday, or close to it.
you've traded in your Dooney & Bourke or Coach Purse for a diaper bag.
your whole wardrobe changes to make it easier to breastfeed.
you can't finish the sentence, "Don't let her drop that toy." before you hear it hit the floor.
every time you go somewhere, it seems like you're moving.
you can change a diaper with your eyes closed, and actually have.
you go to the store and dart over to the baby/kid section
drool, poo, and spit up doesn't gross you out anymore.
dressing up really means just getting dressed.
you can walk through walmart with your eyes closed.
you find yourself changing your own diet to help out your baby.
you find yourself using the restroom with a baby in your lap.
your "work-out" is carrying your baby around.
Christmas stops being about you and your husband, and you look forward to your kids opening their presents.
10 minutes to take a shower is worth $1000 to you.
spare time is a long lost memory.
when you stop using burp clothes or bibs for drool, and just wipe it on your pants.
when you find yourself spending a little longer in the bathroom, while the hubby is home, just for a break.

Come on, guys! Add some more in the comments! You know you're a Mommy when...

Disappointment. Storms. Amazement...

Disappointment- I do have to say that I was quite disappointed in the lack of feedback about my shop, but oh well. I was curious of what people thought, and I guess now I know.. haha.. Oh well. I'll keep trudging on, and do my thing.

Storms- Last night was one full of storms.. Some were quite bad actually. I hate storms and I hate weather.. lol.. I can't sleep well when it's raining, and I was dreading last night, not knowing how Leala would respond. There has only been one other night that stormed somewhat bad, since she's been alive and that was in SC. It wasn't near as bad as last night, and she was obviously much younger. Anyway, I am gladly able to say that I think the rain (even with all the lightening and thunder - and there's was lots of thunder) soothed Leala. I know that most people like to sleep to the sound of the rain, but I do not, and I was hoping she did. Well, she did great. She slept longer than she usually does. She went to bed at 9:30 and woke up at 8. Yup, this is one happy mommy..

Amazement- Our little girl has been pulling up on things a lot now, and even that is still amazing to me. But today she did something that brought tears to my eyes.. She was in crib, all by her lonesome self (while I was cleaning up a bit), and I looked over at her, and she was walking in her crib, holding onto the side rail.. She looked like such a big girl! She did so well too. Then I was encouraging her to walk some more, and she did (with a cute little smile on her face). After I was done cleaning up, I was about to get her out, and grabbed one of her hands. She had her other hand on the side of the crib, and she walked a good 4 steps like that too.. She is just soo cute. I am so glad to be able to call her mine.. :)

All About Me!

I am an everyday mom, who just wants to share experiences, good times and bad, with other moms and moms-to-be. I usually have an opinion about almost everything, and I'm glad to share. :)

I will hopefully be posting several blogs a week. The subjects will vary from breastfeeding to daily obstacles of motherhood to reviews on different toys or baby products to anything else you can think of. I'm also interested in scrapbooking and I have my own cafepress shop. So I'm sure there will be a few blogs about that as well.

In general, this will be my place to share my life being a mommy and wife.

Well, I guess I should tell you that my name is Ashley and my husband's name is Kevin. We've been married for 3.5 years. We have a beautiful daughter, Leala, who was born February 2nd, 2008. My husband got out of the Navy this summer, after serving 5 years, so we moved back home to Texas. That should give you the general information you might need about us, for now.

My first few blogs may be little stories of important events that have happened along the way, including how Kevin and I met and Leala's birth story (which are both quite interesting!). Stay tuned and I'm sure I'll give you something to think about, smile about, talk about, and laugh about..
