I can't believe how fast time goes by. Today is Leala's first Halloween, and in 2 days she'll be 9 months old. That just seems impossible to me.
We have had a pretty busy day today. We went shopping (Daddy is at the World Internet Seminar). Then we went and saw my mom. She had surgery today on her wrist. She loved Leala's costume! Then we went and saw my sister, to show off Leala to her co-workers! Then we finally came home. Daddy should be home kinda soon... And then we will hand out candy tonight to the trick-or-treaters with Leala's help!
She looks so cute in her little costume. She makes the perfect little strawberry. I love how she gets all excited when she sees her costume. Too cute! :) I will definitely post a picture of her.

Destined From Day One? I Think So...
So.. how it all started...
I was 12 years old and at a friend's house.. bored out of our minds with nothing to do. What else would we do besides pick up the phone and start prank calling people, right? (Come on, we were stupid young girls.. haha). After a few calls, my friend dialed a number, and threw the phone to me, telling me I would have to marry whoever answered the phone.. After lots of rings, a male's voice said "Hello". I acted as if I knew him and replied with a "Hey, whatcha doing?". We talked for a while, and I insisted that I knew him, and he insisted that he didn't know me, but we continued to flirt. After a while, I told him that my friend David had given me his number. (At the time, I didn't even know a David. It just sounded good). He said okay, and we continued talking for a total of 4 hours that night.
We talked on the phone every single day after that. (Later I found out that he had asked his friend David about me, and of course he said he had no idea who I was, but Kevin continued to talk to me everyday). After 3 years of talking on the phone, I finally told him that I loved him and he said he loved me too. So, the next day, we met in person. Our hearts have been inseparable ever since.
A year and a half later he proposed. A year and 4 months after that, we got married. Yes, I was very young. I actually graduated from high school early in February of 2005, then turned 18 in March, then got married in April. Three and a half years later, we're still going strong, with a beautiful daughter.
So obviously my friend was right, when she said I'd marry whoever answered the phone.. :)

All About Me!
I am an everyday mom, who just wants to share experiences, good times and bad, with other moms and moms-to-be. I usually have an opinion about almost everything, and I'm glad to share. :)
I will hopefully be posting several blogs a week. The subjects will vary from breastfeeding to daily obstacles of motherhood to reviews on different toys or baby products to anything else you can think of. I'm also interested in scrapbooking and I have my own cafepress shop. So I'm sure there will be a few blogs about that as well.
In general, this will be my place to share my life being a mommy and wife.
Well, I guess I should tell you that my name is Ashley and my husband's name is Kevin. We've been married for 3.5 years. We have a beautiful daughter, Leala, who was born February 2nd, 2008. My husband got out of the Navy this summer, after serving 5 years, so we moved back home to Texas. That should give you the general information you might need about us, for now.
My first few blogs may be little stories of important events that have happened along the way, including how Kevin and I met and Leala's birth story (which are both quite interesting!). Stay tuned and I'm sure I'll give you something to think about, smile about, talk about, and laugh about..
